Third place contest prize for: Niatasha Elyse

It's time for one of the real prizes: Nina the Charmeleon for Niatasha, a.k.a. :iconlenval:. I decided to try and make this Pokémon look a little bit like a raptor. I think I managed to pull it off, so I hope Niatasha likes it. Charmeleon is a pretty cool critter. :)

Nina will eventually make an appearance in Stuff of Legend.

There are quite a few. Magikarp for instance, although it can still evolve into something decent.

I figure the weak Pokémon that never evolve are the worst kind. Like Dunsparce, for instance. It doesn't even look good. XD

Hmm, I actually know someone who's favourite is Girafarig. If you browse through my gallery, you may notice that I've drawn them several times, because that person requested 'em. XD

Thanks. And I think I mentioned a fire tutorial in one of my other comments to this pic. That tutorial is great; I use the techniques described in there, all the time. :)

Blijven proberen! :)

The claws seem really big and the neck a bit too long, but otherwise it's very, very cool. I rather like Charmeleon, and this really adds to how badass they are. The body and legs are definitely my favourite parts; they came out looking very nice. ^^ (And to think that a third of newbie trainers will have this fearsome beast by the third gym!)

Looking forward to the evolved version. =o

Well, I know this Charmeleon doesn't exactly have canon body proportions, but that was actually the whole point. I wanted to make a dinosaur-Charmeleon! :D

Anywho, she does look pretty fearsome. And I actually always make sure my Charmander has already evolved before I even reach the first gym. XD

For extra pwnage, y'know? Thanks for commenting! :)

It's what I thought when I first saw it: Looks like a dinosaur. Raptor, to be specific. Nicely done.

I love raptors too, which is why I kinda mutated Nina into one. XD

THIS is why I think Charmeleon is one of the most bad ass Pokemons in existence!!
Daaaammnn you made him totally awesome looking!!! he really suits the very raptor-esque features and that pose you've got him in really highlights it perfectly. I'm really loving that left leg in particular, the muscle definition is perfect, and it just looks so big and powerful!!

another absolutely stunning job Neko :D!

ooops did i slip a 'he' somewhere in there? :blushes: :D

But yeh I don't find that all that hard to believe, the first thing I thought of when you said that was those damn raptors in the Jurassic Park movies who kinda tore everyone to pieces and they were all girls! :w00t:

Yeah, those were girls too. Although according to the movie some of the dino's could change gender. So maybe some of those raptor girls weren't really girls anymore?

I dunno... :P
