His lungs were burning and his legs would no longer support his weight.

He had flopped down on the cold stone; his ill-treated wings draped around him. Powerless.

The boy bit down on his lower lip to stop the uncontrollable shaking of his body.

His eyes, unaccustomed to so much light, squinted as Azurr surveyed his surroundings.


It had all been worth it. He was finally free...



Yep, here's another sketch for a runner up from =kilara's Avian contest. 'Bout time too. I've been slacking off with these... This is =Birvan's character, Azurr. Poor kid wasn't treated to well in his early years. I had far too much fun on this piece. Went totally overboard with the line-art, slapped on a background and experimented with coloring techniques. Go me?
