It's like Bush saying, "well hey there Jesus told me to fight Iraq!" and if you're a deeply faithful prson you're suddenly put in this weird position of what's right, what's wrong? Today we have more freedom and we're able to speak out against corrupt leaders but in the past it was tearany and got you killed. If a leader said "I'm doing this in the name of God" and you went against him you'd be killed. Simple as that. If you're a God fearing person it also dumped a whole butt load of moral guilt on you too.
I've experieinced fellow christians judging me and treating me badley because they think they're doing it in the name of Jesus... well here's what I live by:
Jesus said the most important rule was to love everyone. So when I can't tell what's right or wrong I really sit and think "am I showing this person love by doing this?" and usually it helps me make the right decisions in life.
So, am I loving someone by judging them? by treating them bad because they're different? Nope. So it's pretty simple.

What you feel, is ok! it's never gonna change anyway
I don't think anybody thinks that "Cuz GaWd telled meh 2!" is a vaild reason to go to war nowadays and I doubt anyone but politicians even use it as a reason.
Hrrm and heres a thought, if your claiming to have a peaceful god why would he be telling you to go to war in the first place? We all gods children... expect for those guys in the funny hats and strange accents!

Don't get me wrong, the Bible says it's good to convert people asnd stuff, but it also says you can't force it on people. And besides, you don't have to be all preachy on people, in order to convert them. Sometimes just being as good a person to them as you can be, does the trick. People may start to wonder why you are nice/friendly/patient/whatever.
That's living like a christian should, and I think it's far more effective. Those who are sensitive to it will respond so much better. They might even convert... But it doesn't matter if it doesn't happen for decades...
And even if it doesn't happen at all, it shouldn't be a licence to go on whatever kind of flame-war. People are still brothers and sisters and are ultimately responsible for their own decisions. If they really don't want to be christians, you should just back off and let them be. AND you should continue to be nice to them regardless.
I don't like the bad rep christians have on the internet. I often don't tell people that I'm a christian when I first meet them, not at first anyway, because people usually respond by raising the anti-conversion-force-field immediately. Makes normal interaction kind of... awkward, y'know?

It's too bad that so many people think all religious people are total whackjobs...
